Diagnostic Dyslexia Assessments
A full diagnostic dyslexia assessment costs £550 and ensures the support your child receives is meaningful and targeted to their individual needs.

Before the assessment
Before the assessment, you’ll be asked to complete a background questionnaire about your child’s development. Your child should also have had an eye test within the last two years.
A questionnaire will be sent to your child's school to help build a full picture of their strengths and challenges.
All information is kept confidential and destroyed upon completion of the report.

During the assessment
Assessments are usually carried out in my home in Shoreham by Sea, providing a calm and comfortable setting to help your child feel at ease.
The session lasts around 3 hours and includes a range of standardised tests covering language, reasoning, memory, processing, phonological awareness, and reading, writing, and spelling skills.
I talk with your child about how they approach tasks, what helps them succeed, and what they find challenging.
You're welcome to stay during the assessment, though most children settle in quickly.

After the assessment
Within three weeks of the assessment, you will receive a detailed report outlining your child's strengths, challenges, and tailored recommendations for support at school, at home, and through specialist teaching if needed.
I offer a 10-minute follow-up call with you and/or the school to answer any questions.
In some cases, a formal diagnosis of dyslexia may not be possible, but the report will still provide valuable insight and guidance to support your child’s learning
