Welcome to Sussex Dyslexia

Welcome! My name is Ruth and I provide specialist tutoring and assessments for children across all key stages. I am a qualified specialist dyslexia teacher and hold an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) with Patoss.

I have over 20 years of experience as a primary school teacher and bring a wealth of experience to supporting children on their learning journeys.

I provide face-to-face dyslexia assessments and tutoring in Shoreham by Sea. Home visits are available on request.

Qualifications and Training

I am a qualified teacher. I completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Warwick University.

I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Dyslexia and Literacy Difficulties (Level 7) with distinction from the University of Birmingham.

I hold a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) with PATOSS, approved by the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC), demonstrating a high level of continued professional development.

I am an accredited member of the British Dyslexia Association.

I have an Enhanced DBS certificate (Disclosure and Barring Service).

I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
